Hi all,
I just found this forum again it was a great resource for my when I moved here last year. If you all would be so kind as give me your opinions about the whether you believe the idea of an indoor children's play center with birthday party and family music/ movement class offerings, etc would be well recieved in the Fort Mill area? It would not have inflatables but some soft play equipment and centers for imaginary play. It would be geared toward ages 0-8 years. Do you have alot of young children in your neighborhood that you believe would support a business like this? Do you feel that with the economy people are still spending money on their children? Would you suggest a specific location or area that might be convenient for you?

Thanks!

I haven't moved here yet (moving in Oct.) but I'd be all over it. I love those places, especially if they offer little classes and have good deals (like $50 for 10 visits).

There's one my wife has taken the kids to a couple of times. I think it's in South Charlotte. The kids like it.

My hubby and I were going to open a business like that in this area..I personally think it make out very well!! Tons of the moms I know always say they wish they had a indoor play area for their kids. Theres so much of Chic Fil A you can take! When I want indoor we end up at Chuck E Cheese, which alot of parents hate. I personally dont mind it but thats just how I feel. There is also now Plaza Fiesta here in FM, I also like it but its very big so once your child goes in you can loose them in a heart beat. I like being about to look around and see my daughter and her friends! I still never tried out Monkey Joes, I hear good and bad about the place. I liked the idea of it but when I went in to look for a birthday party for my 4 yr old..I thought it was sort of pricey compared to other places we looked into! Anyway to answer your question YES I do think it would do well in this area...lots of moms in Rock hill/ Lake Wylie would come Im sure if it was geared towards there kids age. And if you served food I think thats a big plus bc alot of moms like to meet up at a place to eat with the kids but also be able to let them run wild! Good luck with it...love to hear more!!!

Thanks to all who replied! We are still working out all of the details. I agree with alot of the parents who go crazy at places like Chuck E Cheese, as soon as I go in I immediately wonder what I was thinking. Our idea is much more parent friendly, and no matter where parents are sitting they will be able to see their children as they sip their coffee and read a book.
Feel free to give me your opinions about some things that you might like to see in a play center.

I think its a nice idea.

Somewhere where you can meet other parents somehow would be nice.
Focus on learning through play rather than play/sugar/noise.
