Not sure I know where Rock Hill is probably in York County somewhere. We want to sell our A frame log house in Holtwood Lancaster County in the next few months. Fairly close to York over the Normanwood Bridge. Three/four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, cathedral ceilings and windows, wrap around deck, and in ground pool, two car garage. All on an acre and a quarter in the woods. Paradise! We want to move to Maine one of these months. Definitely after the winter, though. We want to get 270,000 out of it. Less without a realtor. I know with the price of land our house cannot be duplicated for that price. Let me know if you are interested.
It's way too expensive for what I am looking for - probably because it's a log home.
I am old and I am poor. I am looking for something under 150K, preferably under 100K. One option would be to buy a wooded lot east of 77 - it doesn't seem very developed over there. There are people who make and sell the frame, rafters whatever as a kit, but then you have to clear some of the land, pour a slab, erect the structure, plumbing, well water, etc. I don't know if it's feasible, and how do you consider doing something if you have no idea initially whether you can afford it?
I have 130K equity in my current home, but still owe 70K. I would be near retirement by the time I paid it off, with no retirement money. If I could build an A-Frame for 100 - 120K I could pay for the house and start saving for retirement. That way, I could retire when I am 345 years old instead of retiring when I am 1,298 years old.
