Hello - May be relocating pretty soon from South Florida, my oldest will be starting kindergarten in the fall. Husband and I both went to catholic schools all our lives, and since schools here are not so good, have been planning on sending our kids to catholic as well. It really hasn't been a difficult decision.

Now that we have the opportunity to move into a school district with as strong a reputation as Ft Mills, the decision to do catholic instead of public is more difficult. We try not to raise our children in a "bubble" which can definitely happen in catholic school, but we really value the academic and behavioral discipline we percieve in catholic school.

Of course I have no expectation that any option is perfect. As I said, we "perceive" academic and behavioral discipline. This could just be the brainwashing we've recieved from all of our old catholic relatives telling us what to do with our children!

So please if anyone has any opinions/experiences, I'm all ears!

Colleen

You can read about the public schools here: Fort Mill School District - York 4 - Homepage

Here is an article about the school lines: Fort Mill Times | FortMillTimes.com - Fort Mill School District releases school demographics for proposed zones - Fort Mill, SC

I can tell you this. All of our experiences in Fort Mill, save one, have been exceptionally good. We feel we made the best decision in coming here and I can't say enough good things about it. The people are great, the schools are awesome and it's close to a big city with lots to do.

I think you'll be truly happy in Fort Mill and with the public school system here. I hope this information helps you. Whatever your decision, best of luck to you.
