I was looking up in Cary Apex and they say traffic is bad there.

also My wife wants to know if its hard to get a good server/waitress job ( preferably a mom and pop) In Tega Cay, fort mill area ?

thanks
Guy

Your commute will depend on where you live (in TC or off Doby's Bridge), and to what part of Charlotte (SouthPark or University area?) you are going. My commute, from Gold Hill Road to uptown, is 20 minutes on the morning - but I leave for work at 9:10 a.m. closer to the end of the crowds. My evening commute is about 15 minutes - but I leave work between 6:30 p.m. - 7 p.m., long after the worst part of rush hour.

On average, I'd say it's a 30-40 min commute with no accidents on the roads. You may hear some people grumble about traffic, but I think it's decent compared to where I've lived in the past (DC area and NJ/NYC area).

I live in Indian Land (521) and work uptown Charlotte. Even in the Worst traffic, it just take an hour. You have many alternatives to the interstate if it is backed up. Most days it is about a 30 min commute.

I live on the line of Fort Mill and Tega Cay, it takes me 15 minutes to get to Arrowood Rd in South Charlotte, in morning rush hour. It takes me 15 minutes to get back home. Of course I live near the I-77 North ramp to go to Charlotte, and my employer is a block from the I-77 South ramp to go back home.

Hope this helps.

Don't know about the waitress job, but as with other areas of the US, restaurants are not doing too well, and one of our biggest most successful restaurants closed a few months ago.

Mrs. P.

As pp's said, it depends where in Ft Mill you live and where in S. Charlotte you have to go. If Ballantyne area you would be going against traffic if coming from Gold Hill/Tega Cay area.

There aren't many restaurants in Fort Mill yet. She might have to drive to Rock Hill (15 min) or Steele Creeke area (10 min)
