Well in whirl-wind 18 hour trip we found a house in Fort Mill. We made an offer they accepted then we flew down to make sure we liked it and we loved it !! So glad that is over with.

WE are still coming on Friday-Tuesday which was to be our house hunting trip but now it will be just a fun trip and a trip show the girls their new house and school. ANy other suggestions for things to take them to see ?

Also I am desperate to find a pre-school for my 4 year old this fall. I have only contacted one in the leroy springs complex and they are booked. We will be in WHite Grove off of Doby's Bridge.

Sorry- not sure how to do that.

We have started packing - any idea about how much of my winter stuff I should bring ? Will the kids ever get to use sleds or their snowsuits ? How often do you need gloves and such.

Im in NY moving down in June, so not sure. I dont think the sleds will get much use. I would of liked Fort Mill but going 50 miles south to Lexington area. My price range is around 160 and couldnt do Ft. Mill unless I moved into a shoe box.

Congratulations.

Not familiar with Fort Mill. Maybe take them to a fun park, water slides, gokarting stuff like that. Movie theatre and see something fun like Music and Lyrics, eat out at a barbecue restaurant.

http://leroysprings.com/GreenwayGeneralInfo.html (great place to go for a hike and/or pick up a few things and go for a picnic)

THE PEACH STAND (Fort Mill)
http://www.springsfarm.com/ (you can pick some things up here for your picnic and/or you can even have lunch right there)

CAROWINDS (Fort Mill, SC/Charlotte, NC)
http://www3.cedarfair.com/carowinds/index.cfm#actions (broken link) (is currently open on weekends only)

DISCOVERY PLACE (Charlotte, NC)

LAZY 5 RANCH (Mooresville, NC)
http://www.lazy5ranch.com/ (this is a little further out...but one of my families favorites)

WINDJAMMER PARK (Tega Cay, SC)
http://www.tegacayrec.com/Windjammer_Park.html

or even...check out Leroy Springs Rec. Complex or the Fort Mill YMCA and Fort Mill Library located in Baxter Village

There will be various things coming up this weekend...from fundraisers, to a Girl Scout Science Fair and Gold Hill Elementary is having their annual Spring Fling.

I highly recommend you pick up a Newcomer's Guide while you are here:

Congratulations! You may wanna check out the YMCA at Baxter Village and ask to purchase a vistors pass, they have an awesome aquatic park for the kids and adults and there is also a funpark with miniture golf course in Pineville, which is right off 485, about 10-15 from Fort Mill. Good luck on your move, you might want to consider putting those sleds on EBAY or put them in storage. Weather today was close to 90 Degrees, yesterday high 80's.

Thanks yet again for the wonderful info. When we were down for the day we went to Leroy Springs and looked into camp info for the kids and signed up for the waiting list at their pre-school.

We went to Leroy Spring complex and picked up info on camps etc.. They said we could add the Y membership for $10 more per month for both. We really liked Leroy springs. Is there any info we need to know about that. Anyone know where the kids off of Doby Bridge do their activities.
