You can call the Register of Deeds in York County and they should have a copy of the plat of your subdivision that shows where the property lines are located.

Check the rear of your lot. Most of the time, these remain in place. It's the ones in the front that get moved. Check your closing papers. You should have a copy of a survey, if you bought one.
The website is www.yorkcountygov.com. If you can't get the GIS to work. Go to "Pay Taxes Online"to find your property.
If you happen to have a metal detector, you could locate the four property pins (which are more like property rods as they are much thicker than one would think when thinking about pins) on the four corners of your lot (assuming you have a nice rectangular or square lot).
I just found my pins after checking GIS as well to get the measurements. I knew where one property pin was so I just measured to the others and was able to locate them, only with a minor amount of difficulty as they had become somewhat buried.
Why worry about it.? Nothing the neighbor next door does can change where the property lines are.After the house is sold and the new owners THINK they can put up a fence in when I would do some checking.Maybe the post are just to show the general boundry and not zero in to the inch. The previous surveys will show the true lines...
