Category: Retirement
Telephone: (520) 825-3711
Address: 1565 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd.

Description: In early 1987 Del Webb opened Sun City Tucson within the larger master-planned community of Rancho Vistoso about 10 miles northwest of Tucson in what is now the town of Oro Valley. Within 10 years the 2,500 homes covering Sun City Tucson’s 1,000 acres were sold out, but resales are on the market if you choose to live here.Del Webb is renowned for the amenities and activities they offer adults 55 and older, and Sun City is no exception. Multimillion-dollar recreation facilities include pools, 8 tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, restaurants, and countless arts, crafts, clubs, and sports offerings available to residents who own a home there and pay homeowner association fees. And surrounding Sun City is the larger community of Rancho Vistoso, with shopping centers, medical and professional offices, shops, restaurants, churches, schools, and additional sports and recreation facilities. (Rancho Vistoso’s 7,555 acres contain developments by many builders, but only Sun City has an age qualification.)Although Sun City is a bit remote from downtown Tucson, this area of town continues to grow. Mountain views abound, as do wide streets, miles of walking paths, golf course views, and a low crime rate. If you’re an active adult who still wants to own (and care for) a house, contact an area real estate agent for homes available in Sun City Tucson. To find it, go north on Oracle Road to Rancho Vistoso Boulevard.
