Description: The facilities at green Kiwanis Park are extensive, including lighted softball/baseball fields, batting cages, lighted sand volleyball courts, a lighted basketball court, picnic tables, playground equipment, a lake, a wave pool, horseshoe courts, soccer fields, and a recreation center that includes 15 lighted tennis courts. Tempe residents may reserve picnic ramadas, ball fields and volleyball courts up to 11 months in advance. Fishing is also permitted.

Description: Papago Riding Stables will take you on trails through the red rocks of Papago Park. Trail rides are $30 per hour, per person. In summer the stables shut down at the hottest hours of the day and reopen in the late afternoon. It’s best to call ahead for times. There are discounts for groups of 10 or more.

Description: The Kiwanis Park Recreation Center has 15 lighted hard courts. It has been recognized by the US Tennis Association as one of the outstanding public tennis facilities in the country. Fees are $4.50 per court for 90 minutes before 7 p.m. and $6 per court after 7 p.m. The center also offers lessons and tennis leagues.
