1. Nathan Fuller House

City: Scotland, CT
Category: Accommodations
Telephone: (860) 456-0687
Address: 147 Plains Rd.

Description: Georgia and Bruce Stauffer have taken this dairy farm and turned it into one of the quietest (and most reasonably priced) bed-and-breakfasts you’ll find. Surrounded by maple trees, the house is an 1820 half Colonial wedded to a 1790 Cape, built by Nathan Fuller for his sisters. There are an astonishing 10 fireplaces, a bake oven, and a built-in cauldron in the oldest part of the house. The 3 rooms share 2 baths, but that includes a claw-foot tub to soak in. Along with breakfast, you will get afternoon tea, and the owners will even arrange a snack or simple dinner for you if you decide to stay in.
