Description: Chef-­owner Craig Belcher opened his namesake establishment in 1981 with his signature sandwich, which he bills as the “World Famous Fish Sandwich.” A diner-­style restaurant with an all-­day menu, Craig’s tries to please every palate, be it down-­home or gourmet. The Jon Chicken Sandwich, a grilled chicken breast with Dijon mustard, Cajun seasoning, melted cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms, and bacon, puts a little pep in the ubiquitous poulet. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Craig’s does not accept reservations.

Description: There isn’t a Tavernier resident who doesn’t know about the rotisserie chicken and Cuban bread here. Family owned and operated, Sunshine Supermarket offers some tasty Cuban specialties as well: roast pork, ribs, yellow rice, and black beans and rice, all at reasonable prices and huge portions. The pork is marinated in mojo sauce—a Cuban concoction of oil, vinegar, garlic, and other spices. It is available for chicken as well, upon request, and you can also buy it by the bottle.
