Address: 1700 East Joppa Rd.

Description: Said to be part of Barry Levinson’s Diner inspiration, the Bel-Loc opened in 1964 and owner Bill Doxanas now claims three generations of one family who have worked there. Yes, there are neon signs, chrome stools, and pies made by Yia Yia Bakery. For their raisin bread French toast, they use bread from Grawl’s bakery. You won’t go wrong with the blueberry pancakes. So, we’ve known for five decades that this is the best diner around. Does it matter or make it better that Southern Living magazine agrees that this is the top diner in the south? The Bel-Loc is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. The diner is near the Beltway and Loch Raven Boulevard, which explains the Bel-Loc name.
