3. The Residence At Tall Pines

City: Belfast, ME
Category: Retirement
Telephone: (207) 930-7031
Address: 24 Martin Lane

Description: Just over a year old, this new 30-unit facility in beautiful Belfast has already been voted “Best Retirement Community” in Waldo County by the readers of the local paper. Which says something in a town that already has the fine Penobscot Shores. (Perhaps voters are influenced by the newness factor?) One and two-bedroom apartments are tucked into a rambling grey place in a residential neighborhood and they come in both independent and assisted-living options. The list of niceties and necessaries is long—from meals to an extensive activities calendar to a beauty shop, library, and walking trails—and the units are rented on a monthly basis for $2,100 to $4,100.
