Description: Situated right on Currituck Sound across from the entrance to Barrier Island Station, Fishbones Sunset Grille and Raw Bar is the only place in Duck to see live bands. During the summer Fishbones has live music every night except Sunday and Monday. In the off-season there’s live music at least twice a week. The house band is Jah Seed, which plays at least once a week. Other bands, including blues, rock, and a Jimmy Buffett–style act, play here as well. In season the raw bar and sushi bar are open until 10 p.m. or later, so you can get a bite before the bands really kick in.

Description: Low-key, casual, and serving great food, Roadside is a favorite early-evening hangout for locals and tourists alike. This 1932 restored cottage with hardwood floors exudes a cozy, homey feeling. On the outdoor patio you can hear live jazz on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in summer months. Appetizers and cocktails are served outside during the music. Roadside is open year-round, but call for off-season hours.
