Twenty-four standard rooms and 136 suites each contain either two double beds or a king bed as well as private balconies for enjoying Smoky Mountain views. Pets are allowed, but owners are required to pay a one-time, nonrefundable fee of $20. Children younger than 12 stay free.

Providing agreeable rooms at an equally agreeable price, Maples Motor Inn has 57 units in its original building, all of which have refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers and free wireless Internet. Another section was built in 1996, featuring suites with whirlpools and fireplaces in a spacious, well-furnished floor plan. Outside, a large pool is flanked by a smaller kiddie pool, and you’ll also find a picnic area and toddler playground on the grassy lawn. Maples Motor Inn is closed during January and February and takes all major credit cards except American Express. Children younger than seven stay at no additional charge.
