Description: Marymount began as a private Catholic college for women. In 1986 it went coed, and today it continues to expand, with a branch campus in Loudoun County and a school of business in a separate location in Arlington. The mission remains the same, though: to provide an intimate and accelerated atmosphere to grow and learn. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in such areas as nursing, business, education, human resource development, psychology, and liberal studies, and the region’s only bachelor’s degree in fashion design and fashion merchandising. Day and evening classes are available for working professionals. The school’s enrollment of around 3,600 features a few more undergraduate than graduate students.
