Description: Golfers looking for a budget day on the links often take advantage of Deer Run, a challenging 18-hole course located in an 8,000-acre park. (The city’s Department of Parks and Recreation manages the course.) Whether you tackle Ed Ault’s 7,206-yard wooded course or opt for the middle-length 6,645-yard links (this one is really suited to all levels of play), the greens fees are the same: $31. The clubhouse has a snack bar and restaurant, driving range, putting greens, and pro shop. The course is an easy 15-minute drive east on I-64. Take exit 250B, go straight through the light, and turn left at the golf club entrance.
