A hiking trail climbs a wooded bluff to the 1857 St. Mary of the Woods chapel built by a pioneer as a promise kept when his children were spared a diphtheria epidemic. A bench is located at a point nearby overlooking the park and lake. The park contains miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails. A log cabin warming house is open in ski season. The park also has a dog exercise area and a boat launch for the small lake (electric motors only). The Ice Age National Scenic Trail passes through the park.
