- The Inn is a historic Victorian home converted to a bed & breakfast and restaurant overlooking downtown Independence. Currently, there are five guest rooms with private baths and are offering a $100 per night special til early April 2010. The restaurant is fine dining with white linen tableclothes but we welcome folks in comfortable attire excluding ball caps and tank tops. Jeans and tennis shoes welcome. Our chef creates wholesome cuisine and specializes in seafood. On the current menu is our signature chicken dish, Not Guilty Your Honor, a panko crusted chicken breast stuffed with spinach, goat's cheese and roasted red peppers along with Coconut Curry Shrimp and, back by popular demand, our Butternut Squash Soup. Through the end of 2009 the restaurant will offer a Seafood Fest with a variety of selections. The restaurant is open Thursday - Saturday evenings from 5:00 - 8:00. An elegant Sunday Brunch is offered seasonally and on holidays including the Sundays before and after Christmas. Weddings, Events, Fundraisers and Theme Parties are our specialty and group functions can be accommodated any day and time. We now offer local art via The GALLERY at the Inn.
