I want Raleigh to go big. 60, 70 story towers are my hope for the City. Maybe Durham will go supertall before Durham

I think that most of us agree with the desire to go big. With the current buildout in the 20-40 story range, it's probably going to be 5-10 years before we see anything over 40 stories proposed for Raleigh, UNLESS a very large corporation announces a HQ relocation and wants a vanity tower.

I’d like a sea of 300+ footers from Smokey Hollow to Downtown South. Some variety to be sure, but I can wait out a super tall which might just stick out like a sore thumb if by itself.

I don’t see the appeal of super talls . I get some people want some sort of recognition when they tell people they are from Raleigh and a super tall will help that reputation . Who knows , we may never see a super tall. I mean Charlottes only got one.

Charlotte doesn’t even have a super tall really these days. Cities have been throwing up 1,000 ft. Towers a lot the last decade. San Francisco, LA, NY (obviously), Philadelphia.

You're in luck, Smoky Hollow III will have a 32 story tower (300+ feet minimum) as part of the project.

Yep we don't want Raleigh to look like OKC, with that supertall that dominates everything else. You can see that thing at least 100 miles in any direction.

Speak for yourself. People in OKC are proud of that sexy tower. I’ll take it!

If it were nicely designed and centrally located, it could do wonders for the Raleigh skyline. Sitting off in some corner would detract from the overall skyline symmetry. LOL
