Murray Canyon Trail

Murray Canyon Trail is 2 to 6 miles in length, depending on how visitors want to hike it. The trail is found in Palm Springs, California. Visitors have the option of going only 2 miles and turning back; however, for those who have more time and energy there are six miles of desert to enjoy. To reach the trail one needs to enter Indian Canyons and take the road marked clearly for Murray Canyon Trail head and parking area. The signs are quite clear.

The trail is mostly moderate, though there are some difficult sections. Andreas Canyon for example, is one of the challenges one can encounter should they walk over the two miles. The trail will lead visitors further into the San Jacinto Mountains, especially if they take Andreas Canyon Trail from Murray Canyon Trail. The trail is alive with fan palms and other vegetation normal in a desert. With rock outcroppings the trail is unlike others in Palm Springs that are flat and uninspiring for vegetation. The trail will allow visitors to spend a little time walking along a stream, though the rocks nearest the stream can be slippery, thus proper shoes are required.
