Description: This is the overall program that provides many of the benefits that are incorporated in member organizations such as the senior centers listed subsequently. Council on Aging provides dining rooms with a hot, healthy noontime meal at many locations in Sonoma County. The Meals on Wheels program delivers hot meals seven days a week to the homes of temporarily or chronically homebound seniors. Legal consultation services are provided, as well as money management programs, health insurance counseling, and door-to-door transportation for seniors with doctor visits. Description: Covering six counties north of the Golden Gate Bridge (including all in Wine Country), this agency offers one-on-one counseling by trained volunteers registered by the California Department of Aging.
