Description: This is a popular after work destination especially on Fri nights from May through Sept. Live music, Capital beer, and wine are featured in the Bier Garten, along with an assortment of snacks like chips and pretzels. Live music plays on Fri from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Soda is also served and the crowd is family-friendly. Though there’s no menu here, many patrons will order out from nearby eateries such as Roman Candle Pizza.

Description: Built in the late 19th century, this former boarding house became a tavern in 1880 and specifically the Club Tavern in 1921. It survived Prohibition with a locally famous chicken dinner. The restaurant and bar area are separate though you can dine in both places. The bar features a raised stage for acts heavy on (but not limited to) the blues. Most Sat and some other nights offer live music. Often there is a cover charge. The bar also offers dartboards, pool tables, and foosball and runs a sandpit volleyball league, and fans come out to watch sporting events on the various TVs. James Werner, one of the owners, is known by all as “Moose.” The Moose burger on the menu is one of the best in town, and there are nightly dinner specials including a Fri night fish fry. Parking is on-site.

Description: When Middleton received a couple of accolades as the best place to live in the United States, one of the supports for that claim surely was this outstanding arts center. The center is part of the high school campus but has its own separate entrance and an impressive lobby with a glass atrium. The 891-seat theater hosts a variety of cultural and performance events and is home to Middleton Players Theatre, a community theater group, which puts on Broadway-style musicals and some smaller or original productions as well.
