Because it goes against all their "models".

Leftists and other do-nothings love spreadsheets and models. They love charts and graphs and plugging fake data into their models and then display the manicured results to their followers.

But when it comes to putting a hammer to nails and understanding how things work in reality they are unable to grasp basic concepts. Leftists do not understand cause and effect. They do not understand the concepts of deterrence and prevention.

What leftists do understand is how to break things and how to promise to "fix" what they've broken.....using more and more and more of someone else's money to do it.

I don't know what state bond ratings are so no - it doesn't impress me. I was able to afford my tax burden up north, and I lived in a high tax burden state. It was the mortgage that we couldn't afford once the spouse's department shut down and the "breadwinner" of the house was aged out of work, not the taxes. I hate the MASSIVE migration to Florida. It's ruining Central Florida, which used to have beautiful farmland, pastures, wooded areas and other marvels of nature. They paved Paradise and put up an HOA.

The only reason I live in Florida is spouse said he'd miss me if I didn't come with him. I've lived here in the past, back in the 1980s and hated it then too.

I don't care about tax burdens. I'd rather pay MORE taxes in Florida, and see more people getting better services, and more funding to combat violence in schools, and more funding for QUALITY health care - which is abyssmal in this state.

Florida's healthcare ranks 26th, higher than Michigan & Illinois who both have way higher taxes. I too wish it were better, so we've taken steps to improve it ourselves. FLA does have some very good Hospitals, but not enough...like NYC. Beds have not kept up w/ population.

Since you want to pay more taxes, have you been sending $ to the State? Or, do you need them to extract it from you? I read you can even earmark contributions to certain causes.

Bond ratings help the State fund capital projects at a lower cost, which keeps taxes down...like the $1B DeSantis is spending on Lake Okochobee's dam, & the filtering resevoire's that clean the water before it flows into the Everglades...you do like Florida being one of the top environmental States for clean air & water right?

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-sta...-water-quality

Gov DeSantis just spent $568M on K-12 school safety. I know a resource officer at a local High School, and he says its very safe...camera's everywhere, door lock controls, 2 resource officers, & anonomous see something say something alert system:

https://www.flgov.com/2024/05/08/gov...ities%20(HBCUs).

Plowing down vacant land to build stuff...yeah, we all agree with that, but the place you live used to be vacant land, & now you live on it You & I are part of the problem

Anyways, thx for taking one for the team by living in FLA for your Spouse..I'm sure he appreciates your company. My wife did the same...she wanted to move to Bluffton, SC.

Um, isn't this the Florida where property taxes are going sky high and insurance companies are leaving in droves? How does what De Santis is doing help those things?

DeSantis has clamped down on roofing contractor scammers & litigation that drives up homeowners insurance costs, HOA costs. It will take ~18-24 months before these changes result in reduced insurance costs, & hoa fees. The lawsuits already in process could not be legally stopped.

Property taxes are local issues. Many increases are being defrayed to new buyers in the way of CDD's. DeSantis did just give starting Teachers a 20% pay boost, so that will not help lower property taxes...but Teacher recruitment is a challenge nationwide that DeSantis is in front of.

Property taxes in FLA are near the midpoint nationally..nowhere near the rates of New Jersey.

Overall, FLA is the 5th best State on overall tax burden to residents. Hurricane Ian exasterbated our fragile Insurance marketplace. DeSantis has rebuilt our disaster funding and is attacking scammers & lawyers who have been feeding off of all of us for years.

I am ready willing & able to defend my position, so instead of a 1 sentence quip, why not bring it on?

Here I am...waiting for an intelligent counterpoint argument to anything I've posted..don't be afraid, I don't bite...it's just the Internet.

Oh, & why do you not like the beach? It's subjective I guess. I take your one off use of my user name as a compliment...thanks!
