Serious note here

I've been watching the blogs and chats today of course, it's extremely entertaining but people seem to scoff and poke fun at the chances of another depression and think it could never happen again and it amazes my to see such ignorant people professing they are knowledgeable, saying things like it could never happen again is inviting disaster in my opinion. Some of us are far more prepared than others when it comes to living on the edge and doing a lot with very little, if your in the skilled trades areas or know how to farm crops or animals you'll be looked at as the new aristocracy of that era. I pray every day that this mess will begin to slow but the ripple effect globally is hard to ignore and a little positive jump in the market isn't very comforting. Theres a reason old timers have always looked at credit with an evil eye, my grandmother said it's the devils way of owning your soul and have you go right along with it and I'm as guilty as anyone on here. I'm not afraid to point a finger at myself but I'm busting my but to rectify the hole I've dug for myself as should everyone else who owes their sole to a credit card company or mortgage company, etc. All you have to do is look at our government for proof that living above your means "WILL" bite you in the but, not maybe. Luckily I was raised in a broke country family so I was taught to garden and hunt and by my trade I can build anything you want, wire it, plumb it or dig a ditch to it and that still isn't very comforting. Pray for the politicians and world leaders to finally get some sense, besides praying for your own salvation is greedy in such times and God doesn't like last minute repentance, it's cheap at best. It's fun to poke fun at one another over political offiliations but at such a serious time in our economy jokes about wanting another depression are distasteful at the very best. They fail to realize that our global population isn't 1.5 billion as it was in 29, it's now closer to 6.5 billion, given the facts even someone who lived through the last depression would surely agree that 1929 would be a fond memory in comparison to the heartache that would ensue. It's distasteful to joke about the potential suffering of billions of people, with the majority of everyone you know, including yourself being in those numbers. Isn't it time we all stand together as human beings and demand an end to the inadequecies of governments, not just ours but worldwide. If anyone here knows someone joking like this, pray for them and hand them a history book and if it's you, I'll pray for you and you can borrow some of mine. It's time to wake up and realize that the differences in our 2 parties is almost like splitting hairs when you get down to the nuts and bolts, it's more to do with the demographics they represent than their stand and thats where we have went tragically wrong. People make jokes about SUV's and the right to drive them, you do have that right to drive what you want but people who drive little gas sippers also have a legitimate gripe, they shouldn't bear the burden of higher gas prices because someone else wants to drive a tank with just 2 people in it. That's wasteful in every sense and a direct reason for skyrocketing fuel prices, so don't complain about fuel prices if you drive a Yukon/Excursion, they sell smaller SUV's with much better mpg ratings everywhere and cars that now get40 plus mpg's and let's be honost, driving a huge vehicle has more to do with wanting to appear stylish than anything else. Why do so few grow gardens anymore, you get far more bang for your buck that way and get a little exercise in the process, a win/win situation. We could all be using cfl bulbs but people say ,"I don't like the light they put off." Thats a lame reason to say the least, how bout this, I cut 20% off my power bill by going all CFL, yes the light takes getting used to but the new number on that power bill doesn't. Whether you can admit your own ignorances or not, they all have consequences so the next time you want to joke or complain about fuel or grocery prices, stop and think whether or not your contributing or helping and you just might be ashamed of what you realize. God left us as stewards of this Earth, in all honosty, " Do you think he'd be proud of our accomplishments or be ashamed to have let lose such devilish creatures to destroy what he put so much love into, our Earth???" Ask yourself that question and give back an opinion please. Thank you and God bless you all.
