My C-D Posts

Many people are offended by my C-D posts, so I shall endeavor to outline what I am doing here.
I think of myself as a First Principlist. That is, I try to cut through the accumulated overlays of dogma, and approach topics on the basis of established data and logical progressions. No doubt I still have some dogmas of my own, but at least I'm working on that.
Most of my posts will fall into one of two categories:
1. A direct answer to the question raised by the OP, or a salient position subsequently added to the topic that is worthy of discussion. Or
2. A critique of a post that had presented a viewpoint based on faulty data or logic. Not to ridicule the presentation, but to guard against the widespread assumption of its validity by those who do not recognize its fallacy.
In other words, if your facts are wrong or if the conclusions you draw from them are not logically arrived at, I might call you on that.
As Daniel Patrick Moynihan said, "You are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts."
