Another Way to Look at Republicans and Democrats

Its nothing new that our nation's leaders let partisan influences determine their loyalty, but recently it has gone way too far and the American Public is suffering the brunt of the fall out from this bickering.
While some of our leaders have began working on compromises, others continue to let outside influences and differences amongst partisanship prevent them from doing their jobs effectively. Though differences in republican and democratic parties can seem to be insurmountable, the truth is that they can actually be very beneficial if looked at in a different light. As I was talking with my brother over Christmas who is a democrat, I realized that both parties ultimately want the same thing; to look good in the eyes of the public. With that being said, whether direct or indirect, they want a prosperous nation with happy citizens and a great economy. Now nothing is a utopia and getting to that point is where the differences come in, but this is where cooler heads should prevail and rather than fighting on the differences, recognize the differences to work towards a feasible solution that will solve whatever the issue may be.
Think this cant be done? Well think about it in the sense that our congress is like the office of an advertising agency. The democrats are the creatives thinking of ideas on how to come up with a campaign to help a client brand and grow their business. They have brainstorming sessions where ideas are flying on media placement, branding, and promotions. While all ideas maybe great ways to get the client's name out there, some maybe just a little too out of the box, but none the less, can get the ball rolling on a more feasible idea that stemmed from that. So you have the great ideas coming from the democrats all of which are great solutions to the issue, and then you have the republicans or in the case of the ad agency, the account managers, who like these ideas but knowing that the client's budget will limit them on what they can do, take these ideas and suggest feasible ways to modify them to fit within the budget. The account managers are not bashing anything from the creatives, everyone is in mutual agreement that these are great for the client, so this is where they work together in creating the best possible plan with what they have. The end result, an award winning campaign that is not over budget, all thanks to the ideas from the creatives and the fiscal responsibility from the account managers.
While the problems of our nation may not be as simple to solve as putting together a successful ad campaign without going over budget, it does teach us a new way of looking at how our leaders could easily work together rather than against each other. As in the ad campaign example, the basis of democratic ideas are great and republicans do not disagree with them, its the feasibility of the idea where they dont see eye to eye on. If we focus on that mutual agreement that the basis of the idea presents and work together to make it feasible while still serving as an effective solution, many of our nation's issues would not spiral out of control like they are today and we would be a better America for it.
