Time to Dumb it Down

It has been exactly two months since I started my job search in the rust belt for a full-time job with a minimum salary of $15/hr. I have applied for 64 jobs, had 7 interviews, and NO job offers.
Okey, dokey. I think it is time to dumb down my resume and my "full time - $15/hr job" pie in the sky expectations.
What the hell was I thinking?
Who do I think I am, someone with experience, education and intelligence? Bah. No employer needs a dinosaur egghead. NO ONE.
So....I will strike my college degrees from my resume. I will list only my jobs from the past 10 years, and make sure to put very generic job responsibilities for each of them. I will state that I have basic knowledge of computers, and I am looking for entry-level work.
Basically, I will have a half page resume, with very little on it. Maybe I can land some part-time jobs at department stores or gas stations. Of course that is a big MAYBE.
If this doesn't work, then obviously the rust belt can keep its rust and I am off to greener pastures. For the life of me I don't understand why employers are so rude and picky in this area. It is not like people are knocking down doors to move to an area of the country that has NO jobs, crappy weather, highest taxes in the nation and really miserable people with NO sense of humor.
Jeez Louise...
