We have a series of reloadable cards that we add $$$ to as we need them. Use one for our oldest grandchild, now in college, so he has some spending cash. The others we use for gas, groceries, Lowes, HD, etc. Balances are readily available online, and very easy to transfer money to.

This severely limits the amount of money that can be withdrawn by scammers, to less than $100 in most cases. We don't use credit cards. No one gets access to our primary checking or saving accounts. If one or more of the cards is lost, no biggie. We can just transfer the balance back, and replace the card with another.

Nowadays, you need to place a layer of protection between yourself and the outside world, while still maintaining the convenience. We find that these pre-funded, reloadable cards do the trick for us. Great for travel, too. Look into getting one!
Do you mean the kind that Walgreens or Walmart sells? If not, where do you find them? Thx
