Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. - When we're in a checkout line at a store we have faith that when it's our turn at the register we'll get done and get to leave. And when we turn the radio on we might not know how it works but we have faith that it will. But how's our faith in God? Like most mine gets weak at times but then God strengthens it. Easton's Bible dictionary defines faith as - in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true. Its primary idea is trust... - In the new testament of the Bible the Apostle Paul has many positive things to say about faith, my favorite is 2 Corinthians 5:7 - For we live by faith, not by sight. - He's saying that we have faith even though we don't see God at this time. Paul needed to teach people about faith in Christ for salvation because the Jewish religious leaders of his day were wrongly teaching people that they had to obey the old testament law that Jesus freed us from and that the works of their hands would save them. We can go to church, help people in our community and things like that every chance we get, but if we don't have faith in God he is not impressed because we're just going through the motions to him. He wants us to have other qualities like forgiveness, charity, mercy, etc. but faith must come first and faith in his son Jesus as our only Savior is foremost with him. What About Jesus?
