Do we 'get' good karma or do we simply create karma period...good/ bad...is living in duality...
karma just 'is'....like a boomerang...is that good or bad?
I never commented on the word punishment.
Cause and effect...you plant corn, you don't get tomatoes.
You sow deceit ---you don't get roses in return.
No punishment :)...that may be a left over subconscious belief from Judeo-Christian tall tales.
Karma is George Kastanza leaving a lit cigar on a wood counter and
what is supposed to happen...stupid is as stupid does...Susan's cabin burned down.
That was not punishment From On High...it was cause and effect.
2+2 = 4....4 was not a punishment..;) ...I got that from the brilliant author Joel S. Goldsmith in "Conscious Union with God"...sorry, Buddhists...there is wisdom from God believers, also.
I was raised a Christian. And I posted a similar thread in the christian community but got a bad response. What I got out of christianity was treat others the way you would want to be treated, we sow what we reap, and that Jesus was healing the sick and doing good deeds but they just kept saying No this isn't it he simply died for us that's how he lived his life. But I learned much more than just that he died for us in the way he lived his life. They didn't seem to agree.
I became a buddhist too probably 3 years ago.
The people here are much more kind I think.:)
