Posted 09-17-2018 at 08:44 PM by TampaBayLove

If there’s one fact about Tampa Bay that everyone knows, it’s that its well equipped with some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Florida (we’d say all of the world, but hey, we don’t want to be that biased).
But with so many miles of beach stretching throughout the Tampa Bay area, how can you possibly narrow down which you should visit? We did the hard work for you and picked out some of the best beaches in the bay area with a few helpful hints that can help you determine which beach might be the perfect choice for you. Check them out here!

Indian Rocks Beach
We almost hate to let you in on this little secret, but we also can’t stand to keep this beach to ourselves. If you’re looking to get away from the large crowds, touristy beach areas, and crowded gulf waters, then Indian Rocks Beach is the perfect low-key, calm, and gorgeous 3-mile stretch of sandy wonderland. This beach grants you the glittering gulf access, tropical vibes, and Florida experience you always wanted without the hustle and bustle of the tourist-packed beaches you’ll find further south.

Fort De Soto Park
This unique beach park in Pinellas County (just a few dozen miles away from Tampa) is a county park that offers residents and visitors alike access to two piers, beaches, picnic areas, hiking trails, kayaking, canoeing, a ferry, and plenty of history. The five offshore keys, or islands, were historically used for military fortifications, and you can still go explore parts of the forts! There’s a dog park, waterfront camping, cheap access to each of the keys, and plenty of beach-side fun. If you’re looking for a beach with plenty of entertainment options, this is the perfect stop for you.

Clearwater Beach
If you’re looking for the quintessential, Florida spring break, tourist experience, look no further than Clearwater Beach. With recent spikes in the population and tourism, this pristine beach is packed with fun hotels, funky restaurants, and plenty of bars to explore. The sand is sparkling, the gulf is inviting, and there are plenty of beachy activities happening non-stop. You want an inflatable slide on the sand? It’ll be there. You want a beachside volleyball game you can jump into? You can count on it happening here. You want hand-delivered daiquiris to your beach cabana? That screams Clearwater Beach.

St. Pete Beach (Pass-a-Grille Beach)
Known to the locals as Pass-a-Grille Beach, St. Pete Beach is a famous stop for locals and tourists alike. This laid-back beach town is lined with cute little bars and restaurant for you to pick from but is mostly a residential area. This historic area is home to the famous Don Cesar hotel that’s notable for its unmistakable bright pink hue and fascinating history. Pass-a-Grille has routinely been chosen as Florida’s best beach, but more than that, it’s a beach you can feel at home at – where else can you count on the crowd counting down and clapping for the sunset every single night?
