You're welcome!
Ok that helps clear things up a bit.
I also moved from San Francisco to Florida, but I chose Orlando. However, I still understand your desire for wanting a more tropical atmosphere, etc. I used to live in South Florida as well.
San Francisco and Miami are apples to oranges. San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale are apples to catfish.
I really think you need to go to Miami / Miami Beach for what you want. Fort Lauderdale surprisingly feels very small. People aren't really into fashion. I think you will find it boring. Miami isn't like San Francisco, but it is still a major city, lots of culture, lots of foreigners, appreciation for fashion, design, etc. If I had to think of a US city, I'd say Miami is a Spanish version of Honolulu/Waikiki.

Okay you know what I mean about the Bay Area lol, I visit Miami at least 3-4 times a year and absolutely love it! Perhaps I may need to visit on an aspect non vacation mode and toward a different light of being a home. I ave booked flights to MIA and will spend 2 days there and 2 days in FT Laud then I’ll compare. Oh yes I was only comparing MIA to SF/FT Laud to OAK meaning city and town, distance and being so close but so different. I’m going to school in San Fran. Do you see yourself moving back to the Bay Area?
