Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

It Is High Time For Pro Sports Leagues To Drop BLM From Their Repertoires

The boo-birds are offering a preview of what's to come. The boo-birds, who were in person in earnest in Frisco, Texas, not too long ago at the FC Dallas Major League Soccer opener, had given pro athletes a very scathing message that will be dogging them as the season wears on.

We just don't need it.

You see all the muck and mire that this Black Lives Matter movement has provided, as it's picked up too much steam over recent police shootings in our nation, and said movements have boiled over into the pro sports world. As it's done so, it has infected the aura of sports events and turned them into mere political spectacles. TV ratings for the NBA and Major League Baseball were down considerably. And good grief, baseball, of all things. That used to be the most patriotic of all of the pro sports leagues. It went out the window when a BLM protest now precedes the National Anthem, and we've seen MLB players take a knee.

Why pay allegiance of any kind to what has become a terrorist organization rather than a simple social movement? Take a look at the following link, as you'll see all the evidence you need as to why BLM exists like it is today.

All lives matter, folks. And these pro sports leagues had better take a long, cold, hard look at this embarrassing display of allegiance. This can potentially ruin the fan bases of all the leagues and all the sports. MLS has had fans send a strong message to the other sports whose fan bases have not yet shown up at games due to COVID. The NBA's goose has been cooked for a while. Ditto the NFL. I shudder to think about the great game of baseball suddenly shunning its patriotic, apple-pie-and-mom image and running the risk of losing so many fans, perhaps forever, because of an SJW-laden, Marxist terror cell. The sport can't afford it.

Sports, please ditch BLM. There should be other avenues to consider if players are truly serious about ending what they feel is police brutality on blacks, as has been alleged. Trashing our sporting events is not the way to go.

Look for more and more boo-birds when the games resume with fan attendance. It'll be enough to put Philadelphia aficionados to shame.

Face it: It has never been about civil rights or about blacks. It's a Marxist cell.

People are just sick and tired of identity politics. Period. Just what good is that stuff accomplishing?

    Think about it.
