want to bring filipino out to visit me

I live in Florida and have met a filipino on board ship. I want to try and get her to come for a visit. I have started emailing the manila embassy and looking into flights from the Philippines to Florida. So far i have been in luck in the flights but not from the embassy.

Does anyone know the process on how long something like this takes?

    Its a long process to try to bring somebody from the Philippines to here. We went thu alot. You should probably opt for tourist visa.
