So I posted a thread on the parenting forum about my situation with my parents and such and eventually the thread ended up being locked. Well overall I managed to get some decent advice but it seems now that whenever I seek advice pertaining to relationships and education, some members come in to the whole thread which is on a completely different section and link everyone to the locked thread in an attempt to somehow alienate me.
I mean this has to be some sort of offense right? What can be done about it?
You can report the offending posts - by using the little red report triangle on the upper right of the post. Also, you can DM a moderator or senior mod to explain the situation so they can review it. Once you make contact, be patient and wait for a response or action to be taken - it can take several days. Also, check the FAQs for the ToS (Terms of Service) so you're familiar with how to handle yourself and any issues on the site (this will help you understand what's acceptable overall - by you and other posters).
You do make some outrageous statements which, whether meaning to or not, tend to antagonize people.
This is a good example to send to the Moderator......I see what you mean. OP, do you know how to check the rude posters other posts?? The Moderator will usually make a judgment call, checking the type comments made on various posts. I've seen people get booted off the forum for enough rude posts.
I hardly if ever attack people outright. I defend myself when attacked. Problem is I have been stalked and users have attempted to alienate members on another forum against me without their links having any relevance to the post at hand.

You do? Really? Please tell me as this is only the second thread of his that I've commented on. The other one was relating to his perception of his high school and was a a mention of overall college remediation numbers. I guess the definition of "stalking" has been defined downward.

Thread titles then. I didn't say you attacked people, by the way.

Rather than attempting to defend yourself in the forum which just leads to more bickering and frustrations, you should report the post by clicking on the Report Posts icon.
I'm sorry but reading someone's posts on a public forum can hardly be qualified as "stalking." There is nothing that "can be done" about it since it is basically the purpose of the forums.
If you are being quoted on something unrelated to a particular thread, you may - as it's already been said - report such posts to a moderator. They will probably be removed as off topic.
