We'll be driving north to south, so it doesn't matter where in Alabama. We want to stay in one of the casino hotels, hopefully listen to some live music and do a little gambling. So which is the nicest, most fancy, elegant, upscale, fun hotel and casino in Alabama?

There's Wind Creek in Wedowee, just north of Montgomery, and Victoryland to the east of Montgomery.

It's in Wetumpka, not Wedowee.

Wind Creek has twin hotel casinos, one in Atmore, and one in Wetumpka. As far as I know, they're identical to each other, so one is not nicer than the other.

Just off 65 you can see a fairly tall hotel, several miles south of Montgomery. Is that the one you're referring to as being in Montgomery?

Are these really classic casionos? Thought they only had electronic bingo, not the usual slots and table games that casinos have.

Think we'll ever have casinos in several locations in the state? Not sure why they're supposed to be limited to dog racing places, and perhaps one or two for the Poarch Creek Indians. If the state is going to legalize casinos, then go ahead and actually do it. And being beholden to the Indians may not be a great idea.

We have no control over what the Indians want to do. The Federal government makes those decisions IIRC.

I live here and I haven't been in there in about two years. I used to go occasionally just for the buffet, but last I heard they shut that down due to covid. I'm not sure if it has opened back up.

I like Wind Creek in Wetumpka. As far as I know, they only have slots, no table games. Also, it's no-smoking now, which makes it a LOT more enjoyable. Dining options are limited, the buffet is closed (or at least it was closed as of March). Their rooms are very nice; overall an enjoyable stay.
