in a little cafe? My business plan of having a little drive up where you can get marijuana brownies and blueberry daiquiris probably isn't gonna fly so wth I guess I better come up with something else.

We starved half to death on the island last summer because there was nothing decent to eat short of driving into Craig and going to RA's. There's a little dive down the street here but...besides having bad food they dissed a family member so I guess that means I'll see if I can run them out of business.

There will none of that fancy coffee drink bs going on. Raven's brew with cream and sugar for the wussies and no decalf at all. Plenty of baked stuff as that's my forte.

We know that the business is there even with all the potholes on the road that (supposedly) keeps CC and his kind from snooping around and I do intend to put up a sign with a picture of a donut with a slash through it to keep the rest of the undesirables away.

I'm thinking of a very limited menu to begin with and basically just fixing whatever I feel like but I want a few standard items.

One thing I will not have is sandwiches made from the pathetic store bought bread available on the island. I make my own and it's a variation of the American Sandwich Bread recipe in Cooks Illustrated's baking book. Any yuppie idjits coming around wanting whole wheat will be SOL.

Good chili always seems to be something that people like and will probably have some along with half smoked salmon chowder. King salmon melts will of course be a staple. Going to be concentrating on breakfast and lunch items at first because trying to do dinners would cut into happy hour time.

One of the eventual ideas is to have reservation only dinners a few times a week with the Prince of Wales providing chef services. One drawback is that it's a dry community so I gotta look into the legality of whether idjits can bring their own hooch because we won't be able to sell it anytime soon.

are you thinking of having a fryolator or not???

my favorite breakfast burrito....black beans, diced: tomatoes, onions, green/red peppers, jalapenos, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese rolled into a flour wrap. simple, as it is a single fry pan so they can be pumped out quickly in a restaurant!

love clam and corn fritters and would someday love to try a half smoked salmon fritter!!

ohhh yeah!! throw in half smoked salmon in the burrito with all the other stuff.....oh yummmmm!

That recipe sounds good, though...have to try it. We do get a certain amount of traffic going to meet the early morning ferry and they always seem to be looking for something they can take with them for the drive.
