Yep, I've been telling people that for years on here. Yet some yahoo will come along and tell people that they can bring handguns across. Even if you declare handguns they are gonna send you back. That's the reality of it. That's how it really happens. The issue revolves around the required "permit or license" to import. They aren't gonna give you one. No matter what. It just doesn't happen.

Ship your handguns as air freight on Alaska Airlines and save yourselves tons of problems.

[LEFT]Travellers who have fully declared prohibited weapons or firearms, but don't have the required license or permit to import them into Canada, will not have their goods seized, and have the option to have CBSA hold the weapons until the required permits and licences are obtained, abandoning the goods to the Crown or appealing the prohibited classification.

I had two pocket knifes in front of inside car in plain sight and Border guard said just leave them there. Coming back into united states from Canada.
