Got friends coming up next week from the lower 48. We'll be between ANC and FAI mainly.

I want to get them some really good pictures to take home.

You know, "here's me in front of these beautiful mountains," and
"here's me posing as if I'm about to be eaten by this stuffed polar bear.."

Willing to do a short hike to get to some of these places, if it'll be possible with all the fresh snow..

Also looking for any last minute advice on "gotta sees.."

I've already decided we're hitting up Silver Gulch, Chena, The Roadhouse in Talkeetna, Moose's Tooth, and McGinley's (sp?) on St. Pattys day. We may go sledding at Hatcher's Pass or snowshoeing at Denali.

Thanks!

Denali! She is best viewed in winter. Hatcher Pass is also great, take walk, ski, or snowshoe out Archangel Rd towards Reed Lakes.

Thanks. I just went to the Silver Gulch website. They're only open until 11? Even the bar?

There's a little restaurant on the side of the road near Anderson, Clear Sky Ranch, good food! Monderosa north of Nenana is good, too.

If you make it to Fairbanks, check the Auroras forecast at UAF (search, "UAF: Auroras forecast"). Also, check the NWS for Fairbanks to make sure the skies will be clear.
