I'm asking this because I need to know which part of Alaska is the best for someone who is moving for a job (a beginner), and is trying not to spend a lot for living there at least for some time.?? And, which is the most job-populated place?
Thanks.

Might want to start with a seasonal job where your room and board are taken care of. Cool works dot com is good place to start. Then you can look around. Also your career path can dictate geographic location. So what do you want to learn how to do? That will help the board direct you accordingly.

Cheap, plentiful jobs for a beginner, and AK is a tough trifecta to solve. I'm still looking for it and we are both not beginners.

Can't wait for the locals here to chime in on this one.

I would typically recommend Anchorage as the best place to start. And in my opinion, it would be best to wait until next spring and come up for a tourism job.
As mentioned, this website is a good source for this jobs: Alaska Jobs | CoolWorks.com

But just to clarify.... No where in Alaska is cheap to live. I would not recommend coming without having a job in place and enough money to live on for a few months, plus money for first/last/security on an apartment. Our food cost is higher, our fuel cost is higher. Do your research.

It really isn't that easy for foreign nationals to find work legally in Alaska unless they are students. I'd look into some of the larger seafood processors.
