I always thought it was the germs (viruses or bacteria) no matter what the weather was.

Pretty much. Cold is cold. Germs are germs. Sure the cold can weaken ones ability to stave off colds and flu...but I'm pretty sure it's the germs man.

This whole town comes down with the same thing all at once. Somebody brings it back from Anchorage or down south or wherever and it goes around the whole place.

I had no problem when I lived in Wasilla for 21 years and cold was around 0. The wind was more of a problem to me. You open your car doors and the wind shoots through the car like a wind tunnel. I now live in McGrath. Cold is anything below -20. There is rarely wind. If you are dressed for the weather, it is less of a problem. My first year was the worst, but then I got some warm weather clothes, and learned that if you are cold, you probably aren't moving fast enough. Before you buy the clothes, see if you can move comfortably in them. This includes gloves and pants.

Back to normal in Delta. In the teens, snowing all day, and it's supposed to clear off and drop down to -40 by the end of the weekend. Honestly glad to have winter back

Correct. The common cold also exists in places that don't get cold.
