If anyone from Oz or Nz has moved up there and got work, either seasonally or fulltime I would love to hear how you did it.

What visa would I need? and how to get it etc.....

I am married with two young children and they would be coming too...

Any advice from someone who has done it before, other than those that married a local, would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Can't exactly help you with how to "get here", but my husband is Australian, from the Geelong, VIC area. You might want to check out a forum called "mates up over" which is an online forum for Aussies and Kiwis living in Canada and the U.S. They might be able to help you out with the technicalities...I know there are quite a few Aussies/Kiwis in AK on that forum.
There is a fairly large "down under" population in Anchorage itself (check the forum for Aussies/Kiwis outside of Anch...as I am unfamiliar with how Aussies/Kiwis are settling outside of Anchorage) with a social "Anzac Club" (I believe I heard around 100 members) which my husband is looking forward to joining (he's FINALLY moving up here from MN in a week and a half -- Yay!).
As for random information...there's a shop in town that carries a few Aussie products that I always had to order online for my husband -- it's nice to see them in stock here! Tim Tams, Violet Crumble, Milo...and of course, all the 'mites. If you're partial to VB -- FORGET IT. Coopers, however, can be located, along with a few others.
Let me know how things go!

Take care!
