I see in this mornings paper a long list of things that they are cutting, including UA, senior relief and low income pre-K but they are still funding the Knick bridge to nowhere. They want to cut everything for the poor folks but keep everything for the rich. Inother words "everything is normal".

UA system is whining like little babies! Smart people should be able to figure out how to support themselves with out being a burden on the tax paying public. All this talk about research money, it is almost all tax payer money........ Boy can they lay all the benefits out to the Tax payer when they are in jeopardy of loosing the gravy train.........

Right, so basically it's a SNAFU type of a situation. Nothing to see here, people. Move along!

Alaska has a tax paying public? LOL.

Gravy trains can be loost? Public schools much? Sorry, pet peeve.

Part of the reason Alaska has a viable seafood industry is because of this research. But that's okay -- the industry will survive even when Alaska doesn't.

University cuts could damage fisheries, Arctic research | The Alaska Journal of Commerce

You don't pay state income tax, and the amount of federal taxes, property taxes, and sales taxes paid by Alaskan citizens is marginal. Your politicians have been ****ing you over for years in favor of foreign interests and buying you off with an annual check while Juneau spent your heritage like a bunch of drunken sailors. Your operating costs until now have come from oil. It's probably over now, for most of you.

You know, people in the seafood industry pay a VOLUNTARY tax to support fisheries research and management. That's because we're smart enough to know that if you want nice things, you have to pay for them.

^Hey, not if you ask Pitts. The beer and pizza tax in Anchorage apparently drove him all the way to Texas. Or Russia. Or the Dakotas. Or other parts unknown.

LOL, maybe we should start a GoFundMe page for Pitt's beer, pizza, and, uh, whatever else.
