I'm moving to Albany this summer and could use some info on the average utility costs for a 1 bedroom or studio apartment in the area around Washington Park.

I've always lived in all electric homes, so this will be new for me. I really have no idea how much it costs to heat a home during a true winter not using electric. Any guidance would be helpful. I understand that costs vary though...

A small apartment like that will be inexpensive.

Maybe an average of $30 to $40 a month

That's for just heat right? Then an additional $40 or so or electric?

Yeah, I mean it depends on your type of heating. If you have a thermostat, for example, that you can set to turn down the heat when you leave, you'll save a lot on heating costs.

But generally I'd say your utilities would cost anywhere from 70-100 a month.
