Regeneron Pharmaceuticals profits doubled to $2.44 billion last year amid growing demand for medications that treat eye disease, asthma and eczema.
Sales of macular degeneration drug Eylea grew 10 percent to $4.08 billion in the United States. Meanwhile, U.S. sales of asthma and eczema medication Dupixent tripled last year to $776.3 million.
This area is one of the best kept secret gems of the Albany region. I bought a house in the town of East Greenbush a few years ago. It's in the older part near the line with the city of Rensselaer, near the current Regeneron. The actual village is east of me. I rented an apartment in nearby Rensselaer for almost 15 years until I saved enough to buy my house.
The area is private and serene for a close in suburb, but still close to everything. It hasn't been built up like Colonie or Clifton Park, so I never have to deal with traffic. I can get to my job about 15 miles south on the west side of the river in about 18 minutes. When I'm home we have most everything close so I really only need to cross the river to go work. I already knew that people were friendly and welcoming from having been a renter for so long using the local services.
Good to see Regeneron putting money into this area. They picked a good spot.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Rensselaer and East Greenbush start growing. As mentioned by another poster, Rensselaer could be a sleeper for development given that it is right across the Hudson from Downtown Albany, has some walkability, is affordable and there has been some economic growth nearby. So, that may be something to keep an eye on
From the article: "The expansion will create 1,500 jobs over the next six years, cementing Regeneron's stature as one of the largest manufacturers in the 11-county Albany region. Regeneron already has grown its local payroll from 250 to 2,600 employees over the past decade."
