"Agent will show a single mother, her significant other toured homes in the Ballston Spa area.
A local woman and her real estate agent will be featured on an upcoming episode of the HGTV series “House Hunters,” set to air at 10 p.m. Saturday.
The buyer, Amanda, was nominated by local real estate agent Victoria “Tori” Romeo of Romeo Team Realty based in Clifton Park. They toured several homes this past summer, but viewers will get to see three — including the one Amanda purchased — on the program.
“Amanda is a longtime client of mine and a hard-working single mom,” says Romeo. “Her light and joy are infectious and I felt that her story was one that so many could relate to.”
Amanda had been renting in the Ballston Spa area, but recruited Romeo to help find a home that fit her limited budget with “old-world charm.” Amanda admittedly doesn’t have the know-how to maintain a historic home which made for some good laughs during filming, says Romeo.
There were just a couple other requirements: The home had to be close to downtown Ballston Spa and have enough space for her son as well as her significant other, Tanner, and his kids when they visit. Tanner will also be featured in the episode.
“It was a challenge, but it was a very fun and rewarding one,” says Romeo. “Amanda and Tanner are an amazing couple and I had an absolute blast filming with them. It’s an honor to be a part of telling their story.”
A longtime fan of the show, this will be Romeo’s third appearance on the popular program. She’s had several auditions since and hopes to start filming a fourth episode soon. She is not permitted to talk about the filming or her experience with the network, but she did say filming with Amanda and Tanner was a blast."
