Need to start a thread for those peeps who would rather drink dirt, than drink a pale yellow fizzy tasteless 'beer.'
Ok, I am a bit of a beer snob, I admit it. It's nothing for me to spend a Sunday afternoon out hitting up ABQ's fine mico-breweries (Marble/Turtle Mt/La Cumbre/Hallenbrick Brewery/Santa Fe/Chama River (ok, I'll toss Kelly's in there to, I suppose).
So, when I came across this ad in the latest issue of the left-wing rag, Alibi (I only read it for the ad's, srsly ), I had to check it out. I had 2 out of the 3 stouts and the porter; I'm not a huge IPA fan boi. The brews were delish, I liked the neighborhood pub-like vibe and seating wasn't a problem (unlike Marble can be at times). Plus you can bring your own food if you like.
Isn't there also a Bad Ass coffee/cafe place out in Bernalillo? Looks like the same logo. Their beer list is huge!
La Cumbre is great - and you can get Boar's Head sandwiches there now.
No, different logo.
Different companies.
Different beverages "Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii". I have eaten there a few times, I quit drinking beer for breakfast when I got out of the Army... And I did not see any there...
Rich that reminds me of a time when I was in Stuttgart Patch barracks, just coming off of a 11:30-7:30 shift the team went over to the snack bar we were drinking beers a first sgt came up asked us what we were doing I looked him right in the eyes and said "Top we are enjoying our dinner is there something we can do for you?" still laugh about that.
Spent a year and a half out on Adak (in the Aleutian Islands) with the Seabees, and one Christmas we built a huge tree in our barracks room out of cans of beer. On Xmas day was opened them all and drank 'em.
Kellys is not the best beer in Albuquerque but it is way superior to BAB. Way.
Also, everyone could do themselves a favor and listen to Marmon. Il Vicino is up and running again. Wet Mountain and the Brown were on tap at the Nob Hill Il Vicino yesterday and their taproom, near La Cumbre, should be opening up soon, too.

Meh, some folks like rum raisin ice cream too.. but I dont.
Very glad to hear Il Vicino is up and running, I missed their Brown following a good N Foothills mtb romp. Makes for a great post-ride brew.
