With the casino and downs and Tingley moving, what would you like to see in its place?
honestly Greyhound Arena in Portales is a better arena than Tingley is, I will not miss it a bit.
How are they going to move Tingley?
Tingley isn't going anywhere, as much as I would like to see them IMPLODE that place. I don't think it's going to happen for awhile.
Moriarty is getting the casino and downs and Tingley will most likely be leveled, there have been talks of building a new arena in its place or something similar but its all talk really, the ABQ journal did a story on it a couple months ago.
The city has been talking of going into partnership to build a downtown arena. The problem is they're looking at 12K. Tingley holds about that right now. And there are many major acts that won't come to Albuquerque because of the capacity of Tingley. Why replace it with a same sized arena? I just don't understand it.

Why? This is ABQ, that should be a good enough answer, plan for the past or present and not the future.
Bulldoze the whole thing and turn it into an ecotourism destination! 100% green and self-sustainable. Then build a big cat sanctuary. Fill it with wild cats that have been rescued from the circus, the illegal animal trade, or private homes (where dumb people think cubs make good pets until their wild animal instincts kick in.) Turn it into a place for conservation and wild life education. Erect a lavish hotel near by; people will come to Albuquerque to spend their vacation learning, helping out and working hands-on with the green projects. I would gladly work on the planning board for this endeavor!!
