how much do you budget for alcohol on a monthly, weekly or yearly basis? this can include buying alcohol from the store or drinking out. if you don't have a budget, then how much do you spend? does it vary?
for me, it can be anywhere from $0 to $500 a month, but will usually average down to $50 to $100. trying to get this down lower for this year. i don't have the money for this crap and i am one more financial catastrophe away from drinking the same swill that homeless people drink.
I was buying 7, 17 dollars bottle every two weeks. I did so for years. Stopped drinking recently for health reasons. It was like giving myself a raise.

If I were on the verge of a financial catastrophe, I wouldn't budget one cent for alcohol.
i am not in a financial catastrophe right now but i have stopped for now until march to do some "soul searching". part of it is putting that $50 a month i would spend on alcohol into savings instead.

to the drinkers in the forum, feel free to chime in at any time. we know your new years resolutions ain't gonna last so stop fighting it.
Ok, sorry. I thought you were asking for an alternative to spending $500/month on liquor.
I was going to tell you to stop being a drunk but that would be rude.
a teetotaler trolling on an alcohol forum. how original.
no, my question was rather obvious and i already know my alternatives, but thanks for insulting my intelligence. trying to find out what other people spend on the hooch.
If $50/month is breaking you, you need to find some way to increase your income.
Generally, probably $100-$200. I had been frequenting a local brewery that had $2 pints on Sundays, but have mainly been drinking Guinness, Corona, and lighter beers at home this month at about a buck a bottle. I might go out to Buffalo Wild Wings once every two weeks, and stop in at a bar once a week.
On most weeks, I probably drink at least a case of beer, sometimes more, seldom less. With winter here, I'm drinking more. During the summers, when I drink, it's often socially or in a party setting, which often gets more expensive than drinking at home.

I used to drink two glasses of wine and, my wife, one glass per night. The average bottle of wine has 5 glasses. So we bought one bottle every other day. The brands we purchase are about 15-17 dollars a bottle. Is that really a great amount ? If so its good I stopped. Maybe I had a problem.
