Seems drastic when there are other ways to repair or improve the gut with autoimmune disorders. Start with food and don't stop until you find the right combination for you. First step.
I doubt that the worm treatment would be a very long-lasting fix if you continue with the same diet you had before.

I read about this a few years back and it's for end of the line, out of options patients who have had every conventional medication and treatment without relief of their symptoms. They are the ones willing to try this approach and some have had reasonable results. They're still in the position of their disease having hijacked their lives and will never not have to be monitored. In that situation, I'd probably try it, too.

Altho we all learn different things at different times, I learned one has to detox the gut, prior to trying to heal it.
I just know of 2 reliable ways, activated charcoal, and liquid clay. I've had both. and prefer the clay, just a shotglass full, as we are made of clay and it's a natural absorber of toxins in the gut. Because health and illness begin in the gut. Our 2nd brain. It warns many of us, who bother to listen to it.
I too have little faith in this method with the worms.

Gut problems due to food sensitivities or intolerances are typical with autoimmune diseases. The gut will heal if you identify and eliminate food sensitivities/intolerances, unless it's gone on long enough to cause irreparable damage. It's not the same as a food allergy. With an allergy, you get an immediate response. With food sensitivities, you have a delayed hypersensitivity response triggered by antibodies to which the immune system reacts. Because of the delay and subtleties, you may not even associate a symptom with the cause.
Modern food additives, preservatives and processing are often the problem, but not always just that. You can be sensitive to some healthy foods. It's best to start with all-natural whole foods. Experiment. Obviously no smoking or alcohol (which can also be a sensitivity or intolerance).
